Govt Polytechnic admission begins

The government published the merit list for admission to the Government Polytechnic Institutes under the academic session 2016-17.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the disclosure at a press briefing at the Ministry. Some 605,606 students, who passed in this year's SSC exam, can get enrolled in the technical educational institutes in different courses.

Of them, 57,780 students will get admitted to 49 Government Polytechnic Institute under diploma course, 64 technical schools and colleges and one Vocational Teachers Training Institute, said Nahid. The admission process that began June 26, 2016 (Sunday) will continue till June 30, he said

Account BenefitHowever, the waiting lists will be published in different phases and the admission from the waiting lists will continue till July 24, 2016 beginning from July 01, 2016.

Some 165,177 students have applied for admission to 114 government institutions against 57,780 seats. Of them, 99,718 applied for first shift against 32,340 seats while 65,459 applied for the second shift against 25,440 seats.
