BCL Activists Beating New Principal

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists of Govt B M College unit has beaten up the new principal of the college on the road.

Sources informed that, this incidence happened near the petrol pump area at 12 pm.

It is informed that, the new principal Sankar Chandra Dutta was coming to join at his new workplace, B M College. Hearing this, the activists blocked road and set fire on tires.

When the principal was coming at the college, the activists attacked him near the petrol pump and send him back after beating.

Earlier, the activists locked the academic building, administrative building and main gate on January 13, 2013 demanding withdrawal of the transfer order of former principal Nani Gopal Das.

The BCL faction, led by the college unit joint conveners Moin Tushar and Nahid Serniabad and backed by Barisal city mayor Shawkat Hossain Hiron, vowed to continue with the movement till meeting their demands.

On the other hand, the other BCL faction, led another joint convener Maksudul Alam Masud, and others student organisations expressed solidarity with the demand for immediate resumption of academic activities.
