Photo Exhibition at ULAB

Famous photographer/cinematographer Anwar Hossain opened a photography exhibition entitled "Dohar 1971" organized by the Media Studies and Journalism Department of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on December 13, 2012.

The exhibition will run from December 13 to 15 at ULAB Campus A Lobby and December 17 to 19 at ULAB Campus B lobby.

The exhibit is a collection of 30 photographs depicting 1971 war. Anwar Hossain feels a strong emotional connection with liberation war. During the exhibit opening, Anwar Hossain will deliver speech and will screen two Docu-fiction in which he played the role of cinematographer entitled "Fera" and "Commander Moyajjem" directed by Sarwar Tamijuddin. At the end of the screening the artist Mr. Anwar Hossain and film director Mr. Sarwar Tamijuddin will be happy to answer question of enthusiast and students.

Anwar Hossain, photographer, cinematographer and architect, was born at Dhaka in 1948. Photographing since 1967, won 60 international awards in photography & is the author of seven major photo-books on Bangladesh, Dhaka, Women and France.

15 fictions and 30 documentary films filmed by Anwar Hossain with numerous awards in cinematography. He served as the only jury in the Commonwealth photo contest at Cyprus in 1980, film jury in France in 1999 and the principal national jury in Bangladesh 2008-2011. Arps, Afiap, Asiipc, Anwar has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by North South University (NSU) Dhaka.
