RUET Student Innovates Automatic Digital Railway Control Device

Railway Control Device Innovated at RUET

Khandaker Marsus, fourth-year student of Electrical and Electronics Department of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), has reportedly innovated a device that can control railway gate automatically instead of relying on the manual method.

RUET Vice-chancellor Professor Sirajul Karim Chowdhury, teachers of the department and large number of students witnessed the device on the occasion.

Narrating the background of his work Marsus mentioned that, the country's railway crossings are operated by gatemen. Many accidents are happened often on the crossings due to either lack of gatemen or little bit negligence of them.

To get rid of the problem, he started the innovative work and after one & half years he came out successful.

The computer-based device will close the gate automatically before arrival of the train and will open the gate just after passing the train in same way. From one computer, some 40-50 gates can be controlled, he told the attending journalists.
