UGC Found NSU Chairman Guilty of Irregularities & Corruption

University Grant Commission (UGC) probe body has found a number of evidences of corruption of North South University (NSU) Trusty Board Chairman M Shahjahan. Following this, the education ministry is soon going to dissolve the trustee board of North South University (NSU). Already the education ministry has started to take action against the NSU chairman as per the UGC probe report.

UGC in its investigation report submitted to the education ministry suggested formation of an interim committee of five members in place of the existing trustee board to resolve the crisis of the institution.

The other suggestions of the UGC investigation report include bringing back the money of NSU general fund which was diverted to other funds and stopping admission of those students who fail the admission test.

Meanwhile, the probe report recommended a number of new steps, including forming a committee to probe the financial irregularity and harassment of women teachers of the University, transferring the NSU foundation FDR to NSU general fund, confirming no admission for the applicants who failed to pass the admission test to stop admission business, authorizing all academic decisions for vice-chancellor and university syndicate and confirming no interference of trusty board in academic functions.
