In this way, the appeal of a Fair is at once local and global. Fair has its origin in the ancient world. In spite of that it has survived to become the most popular cultural event of our time.

However, with the passage of time, people's attitude towards fairs may change. People's life style and taste have changed today. Matching with this reality the forms and nature of fairs have also changed. Fairs today are different from the fairs organized in the past. Even the names of fairs sound different now. Previously, fairs had had been named after different seasons, places and people. For example fairs like "Buro-burir Mela", "Baruni Snaner Mela", "Mohorromer Mela", "Chaitra-Sankrantir Mela", “Roth Mela” etc.

Demonstrate the unique names and characteristics of typical Bangladeshi fairs. Some of these fairs are held in towns, some in villages. Some are arranged to celebrate the class-culture, some to enjoy the mass culture. Every year Bangladesh celebrates more than five thousands of different types of fair. Career Fair is a new addition to this list.

Career fairs are mainly held in universities. These fairs aim at establishing a casual and easy atmosphere where job seekers and job givers can spontaneously meet and interact. Career fairs help not only the job seekers find a promising career, these festivals help the employers also find out the most worthy employees. Traditionally, educational institutions arrange fairs like book fair, science fair, Baishakhi Mela, Boshonto Mela etc. However, career fair nowadays have become an integral part of every university.

Eastern University is going to hold a career fair on 09 February, 2016 at 10AM. This is the third time EU is arranging this fair. Because of this fair there reigns a festive mood everywhere at EU lately. Preparation for the occasion is in full swing. Apart from the fair organization and management bodies, hundreds of volunteers and students have participated to make this event successful.

Many well known job-giving institutions will participate in this fair. The fair is open for all. Here on the one hand, the job applicants will be submitting their resumes to their preferred institutions, on the other hand, the employers will be selecting employees from a number of applicants. Some institutions will arrange immediate interview for the applicants. The fair will also include seminars and workshops on career, mock-interviews and career counseling. This year's fair may surpass the previous two fair in terms of success.
