Unstable Country, Brilliant Students Leaving for Abroad
Political instability, lack of employment opportunity, and better life- brilliant students leaves the country for these three demands. And they're not coming back to the country. Many of them are leaving the country's citizenship.
As a result, intelligence of the country kids is not being used for Bangladesh. However, the Ministry of Education doesn’t know the actual figures. The figure is 700 to 1000 according to a report of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh. However, the figure is much higher than that in reality, said the concerned.
39th annual report of the UGC mentioned, the best Bachelor (Honors) students over the country are leaving the country for post-graduate education. The figure is 700 to 1000 in every year. The top interested countries to the students are United States, England, Japan, Germany, China, France, South Korea, and France. Scandinavian countries also are in the favorites list, because these countries have no study charges. And employment opportunity is more due to lower population.
According to the UGC sources, every year 200 public level and 500 private level students are leaving the country for higher education. Most of them are not coming back to home. The students as well as teachers are leaving the country. They go abroad for higher education, and not return to home.
The UGC Chairman Professor AK Azad Chowdhury said, "There are 37 public universities in our country. But, it is true that there are lacks of higher education. We cannot keep up with the world. So the brilliant students are not preferred our country for higher education. As a result they're taking higher education from various countries over the world. Many of them are not coming back to the country for a better life."
He said, "There is employment and social security in our country. Lots of students of India, China, and Japan go for higher education in European countries and the United States every year. But they are coming back for ensuring the job security and better life in the home country."
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique said, "Going abroad for higher education should be encouraged to our talented students. However, the atmosphere should be created for their return to the country after completing studies. Mainly, the students are not coming back home due to the economic benefits after receiving higher education. This is a great loss for the country as these talented students are not coming back home."

He said in the social media Facebook, "The main problem of Bangladesh is political instability. The course is not ended in due time for this. There is no security of life in the political instability. For that reason, came here in abroad and thinking about to stay here."
An English Department student of Dhaka University, Badhan said, "Parents and my dream was to study in Dhaka University. But that dream has now become frustrations. I constantly think about the job. Whole day I am looking for how to apply in foreign educational institutions, because it is not possible to stay in the country. There is nothing to do where everything happens with the politician's decision."
In addition, there is no estimate at the UGC or the Ministry of Education about the amount of students goes for studying abroad every year, and how many of them do not come back. The calculation is closed for more than a decade. An official of the Ministry of Education said about this matter, a syndicate was created illegal business on this though the calculation was running before this. A group was collected millions of money in the name of giving the approval of Education Ministry. Some officials of the ministry also involved with that group. Since then, the Ministry of Education does not count the amount of students go for studying abroad.
Specialist (Statistics) of Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBEIS), Sheikh Md. Alamgir Hossain said, "We have started working statistically on how many students going abroad. It is being done jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so some time will be needed."
