To apply for the awards covered in this prospectus, candidates should:
• Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person

• Must be a citizen of any Commonwealth country other than the host country.

• Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country

Account Benefit • Be available to commence their academic studies in the United Kingdom by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2017

• By October 2017, hold a first degree of upper second class Honors standard (or above); or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master's degree).

Application should be typed in the UGC Application Form. Additional papers can be attached for the description of the publications.

Candidates for medicine of dentistry must show the year of passing of each part of MBBS/BDS, marks obtained, total and average marks in the application form.

Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Only short listed candidates will be invited for the interview in due time.

Completed application form should be submitted to "The Secretary, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Agargaon, Dhaka- 1207" within 15 September 2016. Name of Scholarship and category of scholarship will have to be mentioned on the envelop. Attested copies of certificates, mark sheets of examinations passed, result sheets of IELTS etc. examination if any and 1 (one) copy of passport-size attested photograph should be enclosed with the application.

Self addressed envelope (approximate size 9.5"X4.5") with ticket (of Tk. 10) should be enclosed with the application.

Categories of Scholarship:
1. (a) One year taught masters courses or equivalent degrees
(b) Doctoral degrees, of up to 3-year duration

2. Application are open for all subjects (must be linked to the development priorities of the country).

3. Regarding subject of study, candidates should mention broad subject, the subject on which he/she has obtained his/her first degree/terminal degree.

4. A first degree of at least upper second class honors level or a degree of second class and a relevant post graduate degree.

5. A candidate can apply for only one of the above-mentioned categories.
