Ownership complexity at IBAIS University

The journey of Private Universities has been started in Bangladesh since 1992. At present, there are 79 private universities in Bangladesh.

Some of them are immodestly involved in certificate trading and debase activities among these private universities. The major problems of some private universities in Bangladesh are - running illegal campuses, ownership complexity, unavailability of permanent campus, certificate trading, infrastructural problem of campuses, and lack of benchmark of education.

IBAIS University also has dispute of ownership. The two brothers are claiming ownership of IBAIS University. They are individually running IBAIS in separate campuses. Claiming the ownership of this university, they did case against each other in the Court.

Account BenefitThe Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh approved the license of IBAIS University to Dr. Zakaria Lincoln in August 2002 to function under the Private University Act of 1992 and as amended in 1998, says a source of Education Ministry. Dr. Zakaria Lincoln started the activities of IBAIS University at a temporary campus at House-05, Road-16 (Old 27), Dhanmondi Residential Area.

He claimed that he was not got the permission by changing the address at House-21/A, Road-16 (Old 27), Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209 during the approval. But a group of miscreants take the approval for this house by misleading the UGC. The High Court declared the stay order and restrictions to operate the activities of IBAIS University at this house, he added.
