The Department of Development Studies of the University of Dhaka is set to organize the 12th "Executive Certificate Course on Understanding Development" to be held between 6th July and 4th August 2012. Classes will be held only on Fridays (9.30-17.00) and Saturdays (9.30-17.00). The course will span over 52 hours which will include 23 classroom lectures and hands on sessions.

A broad multidisciplinary perspective on development will be offered covering such issues as Schools of Development Thoughts and Theories. Social /Environmental Impact Assessment, Social Safety Net, Migration and Development, Social Development, Disaster, Child, Youth and Development, Development Evaluation, Logical Framework, WTO and Trade Discourse, Economic Growth, Social Business, Governance, Micro finance, Climate Change Gender, and Ethics and Development along with a field/ organizational visit to experience development practice.

Applications are invited from the professionals as well as graduates in any discipline. Total seats are limited to only 40 which will be filled on a "first come first serve" basis. Each participants has to pay a total of Tk. 1500 only for the whole course. Prospective participants should collect admission form from the office of the department on full payment of the course fee and apply with full CV (along with one photograph and the certificate of Highest degree obtained) within 5th July 2012 addressed to the Chairman, Department of Development Studies, Arts Building (4th floor), University of Dhaka.
