Dhaka University (DU) authority will celebrate the Dhaka University Day on July 1 at the campus with much festivity and enthusiasm.

The decision came at a meeting at the administrative Bhaban with DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair on Saturday. The theme this year is: Higher Education in Women Empowerment. The theme of the previous year was 'Higher education in national development'.

A committee with DU Treasurer Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman as its convener was formed to celebrate the occasion. The day was introduced to mark the launching of academic activities DU on this day in 1921.
