CUET Honors Admission Process
|
Either it comes true or not most of the students with science background cherish the dream to be an engineer. When he passes his higher secondary one is at the turning point to face the reality. It makes him a bit confused arising several query as where to take admission, how to, which one will be better choice for engineering, what are the requirements to climb up to the dream point and so on. Students seeking engineering admission in under graduation level for the session 2012-13 are likely passing this difficult time with anticipation in mind. The Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) can definitely be a smart choice for those admission seekers.
Especially it's naturally pristine campus and proximity to Chittagong, the major sea-port and the beautiful hill city of the country makes it unique from other similar universities in the country. With an accommodation to 2400 students, more than 200 faculty members and 400 officers and office staff this reputed public engineering university has been producing world class engineers in Varity of subjects and had been ranked as the second largest engineering university in the country according to the QS Top University ranking last year. Besides having library, computer center, workshop and research laboratory facilities for intensive learning a student will have transport, medical , sport and entertainment, internet and residential facilities here to enrich a full-flagged life style.
Every year only a few numbers of dreamers having special requirements are able to get admission through a competitive admission procedure. The total admission procedure of CUET for 2012-13 session has been discussed in brief below.
Students can get admission here in one of the following subjects with their seat capacity in braket - Group KA: Electrical and Electronic Engineering (130),Civil Engineering (130),Mechanical Engineering (130),Computer science and engineering (120),Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (30), Petroleume and Mining Engineering (30) &
Group KHA - Architecture (30), Urban and Regional Planning (30). Besides, 11 seats for tribal quota another 1 for Rakhaine community have been reserved.
The admission requirements are - applicants must be a citizen of Bangladesh; applicants must have Grade Point 4.00 out of 5.00 in SSC or equivalent grade in equivalent exam; applicants must pass HSC or equivalent exam in 2012 from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/ Madrasah Education Board/ Technical Education Board, applicants must have minimum "B" grade (GPA 3.00) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English separately and total GP 17.00 in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.
or Applicants with equivalent grade in equivalent exam from Foreign Education Institution having twelve academic session can apply, in that case applicants must submit certified grade equivalent Numerical Value certificate form authority,
or applicant must pass GCE "O" Level with B grade in all 5 papers and GCE "A" Level with "B" grade in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Only applicants passing "A" Level in 2012 can apply.
Local candidates can apply only through Short Message Service (SMS) using a Tele Talk prepaid SIM. Applicant has to go to the message option of his mobile phone, write CUET(space)First 3 letters of HSC exam Board name(space)HSC exam Roll No(space)HSC Passing Year(space)First 3 letters of SSC exam Board name(space)SSC exam Roll No(space)SSC Passing Year(space)Desired group Key word (kA/KHA) and send it to 16222.

Tribal Quota applicants must add a extra key word (TRI) as last text of the SMS.

If the first SMS is correctly sent applicant will get a SMS in back with name of applicant, admission fee and a PIN number and will ask for confirmation. Then the second SMS will require to be sent to 16222 writing CUET(space)YES(space)PIN NUMBER(space)CANDIDATE'S MOBILE NO. This mentioned mobile no. is for urgent contact and can be of any operator and any number used by the candidate.

Desired fee TK. 600 for group KA and TK. 700 for group KHA will be charged after sending the confirmation SMS and a form number will be issued through a SMS in back which needs to be reserved.
Later, a roll no against the form number will be sent through SMS (also in website) if the candidate is eligible for seat in the admission test. Only 5000 selected candidates from the applicants will eligible to seat for the test. 5000th candidates are all will be considered as eligible.
During the admission test applicants must bring attested two copies of passport size color photographs & must write the roll no. to the back side of the photographs.
Foreign students and GCE "A"/"O" - level students are not allowed to apply through SMS rather have to manually download the application form from the university website (www.cuet.ac.bd) and apply following desired instructions.
If applicants face any problem regarding registration, they are said to contact through Teletalk customer care (1234) and for other purposes regarding admission they can contact through 01555555011 and 01555555012. Multiple applications are possible using same prepaid SIM.
Application deadline (Through SMS) is 9 October 2012 till 12:00AM, all day and nights including holy days.
Application deadline for foreign candidates is 9 Oct, 2012, only on working days till 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The list of eligible candidates for admission test will be published on 17 Oct, 2012.
Admission test will be held on 10 November, 2012, MCQ at 10:00 AM and Free hand drawing at 2:30 PM.
The admission test result will be published on 15 November, 2012.
