HC asks Buet to start admission process
|
The High Court Tuesday ordered the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet)
authorities to immediately start admission process for 2012-13 sessions.
The HC passed the order following a writ petition filed by a lawyer alleging that admission process is yet to be started in Buet due to the ongoing movement by its teachers and students demanding resignation of the vice-chancellor and the pro-VC.
A division bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and
Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the order.
Earlier, the HC on July 31 imposed an injunction on the movement by Buet teachers and students on the campus premises following a writ petition filed by Advocate Yunus Ali Akand.
But on Tuesday, the same petitioner filed another petition to the HC seeking its order upon the Buet authorities to start admission process.
About time schedule of admission test, additional
attorney general MK Rahman said as the HC has not given any schedule for the admission. Buet authorities will have to start admission process as usual, he added.
