Abducted Shuttle Train Driver Rescued

An Assistant Loco Master (ALM) of a Chittagong University (CU) shuttle train was rescued four hours after being abducted by the ruling party backed Bangladesh Chhatra League activists on August 5, 2012.
The victim identified as Kamrul Huda was abducted from Sholoshahar railway station at around 10:55 am.
However, the train service remained halted during this time.
The members of Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued him from Chashma Hill area of the city at around 3:00 pm and handed him over to railway authority.
CU proctor Md. Siraj-ud-Doula said BCL activists often abducted train drivers to halt the services for some time to pressurize the CU authorities to fulfill their demands.
