Dhaka Bishwabidyalay Shikkharthi Odhikar Mancha (DBSOM), a platform of Dhaka University (DU) students organized a solidarity rally on July 29, 2012 demanding DU Central Students Union (DUCSU) election.
The non-political students platform has long been demanding holding of DUCSU election as it was not held for the last two decades since 1990.
DUCSU former leaders ASM Abdur Rob, Mujahidul Islam Selim, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ferdous Ahmed Qureshi, Morshed Ali, Gonosanghati Andolan Coordinator Jonayed Saki addressed the rally with DBSOM Spokesperson Noor Bahadur in the chair.
They were speaking at the base of Aparajeya Bangla on the DU campus.
The speakers urged the university authorities to announce the date for DUCSU election.
They also urged all the students of the university to come forward to participate in the movement of DUCSU election.
