|
Children's Film Society of Rajshahi University (RU) organized Film Festivals based on Bangladesh's Liberation War in the university on July 21, 2012.
To generate interest in the history of the Liberation War among the post-war generations, films on the war were screened on July 21, 2012 night.
Children's film society of Rajshahi organized the show at the university Central Shaheed Minar Mukto Mancho (open stage).
Four films were screened in this festival. They are "Stop Genocide"; "Juddhaporadh" , "Shimanter Khoje" and "Mukti" .
The programme started off with the legendary song "Bangladesh" of George Harrison. Harrison sang the song at 'The Concert for Bangladesh', which raised more than $25000 to help the Bengali refugees.
Coordinator of Children's Film Society, RIM Gulam Rabbani, said that they organized the film programme to reiterate the call for trial of war criminals.
The event ended through screening "Mukti", a documentary on the war based on shadow characters. The audiences were seemingly charged with patriotism, regardless of the bitter cold.
