DU Launches TV and Film Studies Dept

The launching ceremony of the newly introduced Department of Television and Film Studies of the University of Dhaka (DU) will be held on July 23, 2012. The programme will be held at 10:00am at Senate Bhaban of the university.
Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain will attend the programme as the chief guest while DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will chair it.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena will also attend the function as special guest.
Professor Janet Wasko, president of International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and Knight Chair in Communication Research at the University of Oregon, USA, will deliver the keynote speech.
Earlier, DU has invited applications for admission to the first batch of Master of Television and Film Studies for the academic session 2012-13.
A total of 30 students will get chance to admit into the department, university sources said.
