NUB completes 'Summer IT Week-2012'

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Northern University Bangladesh arranged 'Summer IT Week- 2012' from 14-20 July, 2012 at Banani Campus. IT Projects competition (Hardware and Software) and three seminars and three workshops on various aspect of Information Technology were organized on the occasion of IT week. Prof. Dr. AYM Abdullah, Chairman, NUB Trust was the Chief Guest at the Prize giving and conclusion ceremony and Prof. Dr. M. Shamsul Haque, Vice-Chancellor, NUB chaired the ceremony.
Mr. ABM Rashedul Hassan, Treasurer and Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering of Northern University spoke as special guest in the conclusion ceremony. Among others, Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Aqtedar Ahmed Siddiqui, Registrar, Mr. Rayhanul Masud, Head, Department of CSE, Dr. Al-Amin Bhuiyan, Dept. of CSE NUB, Major Nizam Uddin Ahmed (Retd.), Mr. Muazzem Hossain, Executive Director, NUB Trust were also present on the occasion.
In that 'Summer IT week-2012', "Adorsho Bangla Lipi" project by Mohammad Moynul Hossain, Student of CSE won the first prize and "Digital Voter List Program" by Md. Masum Billah, "Remote Control Using Cellular Network" by Md. Nasir Uddin won second and third prize among 12 projects of Project show competition. The project show is arranged by Md. Ruhul Amin and Imran Ahmed, Senior Lecturer, Dept. of CSE. Among others programs, seminars titled "Face Recognition and Eye Tracking for Human-Robot Interaction" by Speaker- Prof. Dr. Al-Amin Bhuiyan, Dept. of CSE, "E-commerce and E-governance", Speaker – Prof. Dr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, Dept. of CSE, "Career Development with ICT and Management", by Academy of Management & Science, and workshop on "Network Management", Conducted by Mr. Jubaer, Network Engineer, "Web Development using PHP & My Sql" and Learning and Earning through online were arranged on the occasion.
Chief Guest Prof. Dr. AYM Abdullah said that, the slogan of NUB is 'Knowledge for Innovation and Change' and our students are really innovative. He appreciated such an IT projects competition and hoped that, these projects help the student in their future life.
