78.67% Pass HSC, Equivalent Exams

On an average 78.67 percent of examinees passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent madrasa, vocational and DIBS examinations - 2012 held under 10 education boards of the country this year, according to the results announced today.
A total of 9,17,673 examinees from 7,465 educational institutions appeared at the examinations of whom 7,21,979 students came out successful.
Of them, a total of 61,162 candidates scored maximum grade point average GPA-5, the number is 21,393 more than that of the last year.
This year Sylhet board has the highest passing rate of 85.37 percent.
Dhaka board follows with 81.89 percent, Comilla with 74.56, Rajshahi 78.44 percent, Dinajpur 75.41 percent, Chittagong 72.29 percent, Jessore 67.87 percent and Barisal with 66.98 percent.
The pass rate under the Madrasah board is 91.77 percent while the vocational board has 84.32 percent successful students.
The rate of passing amongst girls is 89.19 percent and 78.23 percent for boys.
Rajuk Uttara Model College clinched the first position under Dhaka Board in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.
The examinees can check results directly on the website www.educationboardresults.gov.bd
The candidates can also get their result sending SMS to 16222. They need to type in the message option – HSC space [First 3 letters of the respective education board] space [Roll no] space 2012 and send to 16222.
For example: HSC dha 123456 2012 and send to 16222.
In last year, 75.08 percent of students passed the examinations.
