Indefinite Strike of Teachers Begin at SUST Again

The teachers of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) have begun their indefinite strike again. They are protesting for the irregularities in teacher’s promotion & appointment at SUST.
Teachers are divided into groups about this matter, however most of them demanding uniform rule for teacher's recruitment and promotion.
The teachers of Applied Sciences Faculty of SUST were protesting for this uniform rule from 1st May. But they called off their strike after SUST Teachers’ Association (SUSTTA) held a meeting with teachers’ representatives of the faculty to resolve the problem; whether SUSTTA assured that the problem will be solved. But the problem hasn’t solved yet.
Moreover, following the upcoming syndicate election teachers of SUST are said to be divided into 5 groups. Those groups are – VC group, Bangabondhu porishad, left panel, an association inspired by liberation war, an association inspired by free thinking. However, VC of SUST denied this allegation and said that, there is no grouping among the teachers.
