Unruly Situation Covered DU Tourism Dept.

Tenacity of the Department Chair of Tourism & Hospitality Management Department of Dhaka University (DU) Dr. Mubina Khondoker & unconcerned attitude of VC professor AAMS Arefin siddique has formed haphazard situation in the department.
Anxiety is increasing day by day among the teachers & students for inadequate teachers at the department, delay in teacher’s promotion & unruly decision of chairman in the academic activities.
Already four senior teachers of examination committee resigned protesting these irregularities. The self-resigned teachers are – Prof. Saiyed Rashedul Hasan, Prof. Afzal Hossain, Professor Md. Bodruzzaman Bhuiyan & Prof. Kamrul Hasan.
They also requested DU VC to inspect in this matter. The agitated teachers claimed that, though VC knows everything he is not taking any attempt against the chairman of the department.
It is known that, Dr. Mubina Khondoker was appointed as the chairman of the department temporarily in November 2009. But after taking her post, she didn’t give promotion or appointment to any teacher yet.
Former chairman of the department Prof. Dr. Afzal Hossain claimed that, Chairman’s willfulness is destroying the future of the department. And DU VC is supporting all the activities of the chairman.
Prof. Dr. Mubina Khondoker said, `There are no irregularities, transparency or intransigence in the department. All money spends by the department follows the correct process. `
