89 Candidates for Each Seat at JU

Online application process for admission in the 1st year honors courses under the academic session 2012-13 has ended at Jahangirnagar University (JU). This year an average of 89 candidates will compete for each seat in the intake tests of JU.
This year a total of 2,20,922 applications have been submitted which is 53,000 more than the previous year.
Admission tests will begin from October 13, 2012 and continue till October 19, 2012. 'A' unit intake test will be held on October 13, 2012 while 'D' Unit intake test will be held on October 14, 2012; 'B' unit and 'H' unit on October 15, 2012; 'E' and 'F' units on Oct 16, 2012; 'C' and 'G' units on October 18, 2012 and October 20, 2012 respectively.
Starting from 9:30 am the admission test will be held till 5:00 pm. The students must be carried the intake test admit card along with original admit card of higher secondary school (HSC) during the test.
Highest applications have been submitted in 'Ga' Unit (Arts & Humanities faculty). This year 91,193 applications have been submitted for admission in the 9 subjects under this unit. Moreover, 31,239 applications have been submitted in 'Ka' Unit (Mathematics and Physics faculty); 20, 491 applications in 'Kha' Unit (Social Science faculty); 37,150 applications in 'Gha' Unit (Biology faculty); 22,989 applications in 'Uma' Unit (Business Administration faculty); 10,928 applications in 'Ca' unit (IIT); 6,947 applications in 'Cha' Unit (IBA) and 12,416 applications in 'Ja' unit.
