Students get free Laptop at DIU

Daffodil International University (DIU) distributed 1000 Laptop at free of cost among the students at its continuous process of "One Student-One Laptop" project on February 26, 2017 at DIU Auditorium 71.

Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Honorable Chairman, Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) & Chairman, Board of Trustees, Fareast International University graced the Laptop Distribution Ceremony as the Chief Guest and handed over the laptops.

Mr. AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Founder, President & Chairman, Port City International University graced the occasion as the Special Guest. The function was presided over by Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University.

The function was also addressed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam Before distributing the Laptop, Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of the university conducted the oath taking part of the ceremony where the students Swire upon regarding the best use of the laptops in academic and education purpose.

Addressing as the chief guest Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Chairman, Association of Private University of Bangladesh (APUB) said that government should come forward with financial support for private universities besides public universities. There are 95 private universities in Bangladesh and a lot of students are taking their higher education from these universities. But students are not getting any support from government. He urged the government to stand behind these private universities to implement vision 2021 and build beautiful Digital Bangladesh.

Account BenefitMr. Md. Sabur Khan during his speech said, technology is now a part and parcel of teaching and learning. He urged the students to be a potential ICT skilled graduate to contribute to the nation developing bright career ensuring proper utilization and application of the Laptop. It is envisaged that DIU graduates can stand out by competing with other graduates both nationally and globally with their skill that they will acquire from this university.

The Laptop will help the students to equip themselves with proper technical knowledge so that they can survive and secure respectable place in the society. Through this initiative DIU students will get the opportunity to implement digital Bangladesh concept.
