Moot Court held at NUB

The 58th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court 2017, National Round's opening ceremony was held in the auditorium of Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) on February 16, 2017 (Thursday).

This 3 days event was jointly arranged by Northern University Bangladesh and Asian Society of International Law Bangladesh. The main guest for this event was Bangladesh Supreme Court's Appeal Division's Honorable Judge Justice Md. Imman Ali.

The event was chaired by Professor Dr. AWM Abdul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Law, NUB. The special guests for this event were Professor Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah, Chairman, NUB Trust, Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor, NUB and Lt. Col. (ret) Eqtedar Ahmed Siddiqui, Registrar, NUB.

Professor Dr. Borhan Uddin Khan, President, ASIAN SIL Bangladesh, was present as the representative as Asian Society of Law, Bangladesh. Law students from 13 public and private universities took part in this competition.

The decay of any society is simply the reflection of failure of that that society's justice system. Students of Law can become familiar with the Bangladesh Judicial System through moot court competitions like this. And by combining academic knowledge with practical application of law, students are getting familiar with the real life proceedings of the court."
