MU signs agreement with UGC

Metropolitan University, Sylhet has signed an agreement with the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the establishment of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

Metropolitan University has signed that agreement with 7 another renowned universities in the country at the UGC Auditorium on February 13, 2017 (Monday).

UGC chairman Professor Abdul Mannan was present at the signing ceremony as the chief guest. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Saleh Uddin and Dean of the Business and Economics School Professor Dr. Md. Taher Billal Khalifa attended on behalf of Metropolitan University.

Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled signed the agreement on behalf of UGC. UGC member Professor Dr. Md. Yusuf Ali Molla was present as the special guest at the program presided over by the sub-project director of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) Sohel Ahmed. Head of the Quality Assurance Unit of UGC Professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed gave the welcome speech.

Account BenefitUnder the agreement, 8 universities of the country including Metropolitan University will get Tk. 7 crore 41 lakh 50 thousand for the establishment of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) under the Round Four.

As the chief guest on the occasion, UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan said, the establishment of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell at university level will play an important role improving the quality of higher education.
