Pitha Utshab held at BU

The Department of Law, Bangladesh University organized a gorgeous 'Pitha Utshab' at the Bangladesh University Auditorium on January 29, 2017 (Sunday).

A total of 11 batches from the Department of Law participated in the event. There was a lovely presentation of almost sixty types of traditional cakes in different well decorated stalls.

Professor Dr. Golam Rahman, Vice-Chancellor and Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Treasurer, Bangladesh University visited the stalls and congratulated the students for their relentless effort. A panel of judges led by the Registrar, Bangladesh University, judged the winners.

In the closing ceremony, Engineer MA Ghulam Dastagir, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Bangladesh University was present as the Cheif Guest, while Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian, Adviser, Department of Law, presided over the session.

Account BenefitMajor (Rtd.) Niaz Mohammad Khan, Registrar, Bangladesh University was present as the Special Guest. Mr. Dastagir congratulated the Department of Law for organizing this 'Pitha Utshab' to uphold and disseminate the Bengali tradition and culture among the law students.

Renowned Author, Writer and Educationist Husne Ara Shahed, Director (Information) of the Bangladesh Television and famous Bengali Modern Poet Nasir Ahmed and Veteran Journalist, Sports Reporter and Deputy-Editor of the Daily Kaler Kantho Mostafa Mamun were present as Guests of Honor and gave away the prizes.

26 Batch, 31 Batch and 27 Batch of the Department of Law secured the Champion, the First Runner-up and the Second Runner-up prizes respectively. Deans of other Faculties, respected Heads and teachers of various Departments were also present on the occasion.
