Nahid Inaugurated Interactive Digital Madrasa Textbooks

Madrasa textbook digitization starts

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on December 17, 2016 inaugurated the digital version of Madrasa textbooks of Class Six titled Interactive Digital Madrasa Textbooks (IMDT) with different facilities.

Under the initiative of Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board, digital versions of four textbooks of Class Six - Quran Majid, Akaid Fiqah, Arabic 1st and 2nd papers have been launched at a function at International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) auditorium in the city's Segunbagicha area.

The textbooks can be read in different electronic mediums like computer, tab or mobile-phone with online and offline facilities. The IDMT comprises word meanings, realistic examples, pictures and videos. Students can download the books or contents free of cost from the website of Madrasa Education Board.

Addressing the launching ceremony, the minister said the government has been working tirelessly to modernize the madrasa education as the students can learn modern knowledge, efficiency and uses of technology.

Account BenefitHe said the government has already constructed 1,342 buildings and more 509 others are under construction for the betterment of madrasa education in the country. "Honors course have been introduced at 31 madrasas while honors course will be introduced in more 21 madrasas soon", he added.

Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board Chairman Professor AKM Saif Ullah chaired the function while Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Computer Science and Engineering Faculty Dean Professor M. Kaykobad, Secondary and Higher Education Directorate Director General Dr. SM Wahiduzzaman and Madrasa Education Directorate Director General Md. Billal Hossain joined it, among others.
