Authorities of Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College on October 25, 2016 announced to shut down indefinitely following a clash between two groups of students early on October 24, 2016 (Monday).

The decision to shut down the campus was taken at a meeting of the academic council of the institution around 11:00 am, said the Principal Dr. Malay Kanti Chakrabarti.

The students have been asked to vacate their dormitories by 2:00 pm on October 26, 2016 (Wednesday).

AMUMC Principal Professor Malay Kanti Chakrabarti said, members of 'Sandhani Club' and 'Medicine Club' of the college locked into a clash on Sunday night over incorporating new students into their groups, leaving five students injured.
