RU Relaxes Minimum Qualifications for Admission

Eligibility criteria relaxed at RU

The authorities of Rajshahi University (RU) relax minimum qualifications to apply for the admission tests under the academic session 2016-17.

Deputy Registrar of RU Academic Section AHM Aslam Hossain confirmed that on September 05, 2016 (Monday). He said, students passed from Humanities group (with 4th subject) in SSC and HSC must have total GPA 7.00 and minimum GPA 3.00 in each, which was GPA 7.50 in last year.

Students passed from Commerce group (with 4th subject) in SSC and HSC must have total GPA 7.50 and minimum GPA 3.50 in each, which was GPA 8.00 in last year. In addition, applicants who have passed SSC and HSC from Science group (with 4th subject) must have total GPA 8.00 and minimum GPA 3.50, which was GPA 8.50 in last year.

Candidates can apply online from 12:00 pm on September 18, 2016. One can apply until 12:00 am at night on October 02, 2016. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Subcommittee on admission tests, he said.

The application fee of 'B' unit is Tk. 330, which was Tk. 300 in last year; 'C' unit application fee is Tk. 715, which was Tk. 700 last year; 'D' unit is Tk. 550, which was Tk. 500; 'E' unit is Tk. 825, which was Tk. 800; 'F' unit is Tk. 605, which was Tk. 550; and 'H' unit application fee is Tk. 550, which was Tk. 500 in last year.

The admission tests for 56 departments and 2 institutes under 9 units will begin on October 23, 2016 and continued till October 27, 2016. Only the candidates who pass the HSC examination in 2016 are eligible to take part in the admission tests this year.
