People become education-oriented

The people have become education-oriented as a result of the development of the financial condition, said the Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.

He said, people in the villages have become education-oriented. Students are going school colleges timely. Parents send their children to school with encouragement. This is the reason of the improvement in financial conditions.

But most of the college teachers prefer coaching rather than taking regular classes at institutions, said Nurul Islam Nahid on August 30, 2016. "Students and teachers are not seen at many colleges after 11:00 am, coaching is going on but no classes", the education minister said at a report publishing program of Learning Assessment of Secondary Institution (LASI) in Dhaka.

College teachers who are involved in coaching think that if they teach properly at classes, students would not come to coaching centers, the education minister added. "If inspectors find a teacher absent at a classroom, a fine is supposed to be cut from his salary, but the teacher knows nobody will come to inspect, not even in a 10-year span", Nahid commented sarcastically.

DSHE Director General SM Wahiduzzaman questioned the inspection conducted by grass-roots level education officials as the pass rate of HSC is zero at many colleges.
