Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on May 22, 2016 said her government wants to create opportunity for students to use modern technologies to educate themselves and share knowledge.

"We want to create that opportunity so that the country's students can gather more and more knowledge about the whole universe", she said while distributing prizes among the winners of a competition titled 'Hunt creative talents' for 2015 and 2016.

The Ministry of Education organized the program at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka with Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid in the chair. The Prime Minister said today's children are lucky as they have the opportunity to see the whole world sitting at one place.

"We want to provide them with more opportunities so that they can expand their minds through acquiring more and more knowledge, and contribute towards building a better beautiful society", she added. The PM said her government is set to create a 'poverty-free' country, which is impossible to do without educating the country.

Hasina said the government has already started constructing residential schools in remote hilly areas. "We can do the same for remote char lands as well where students face too many obstacles to reach their respective educational institutions", she said.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed her decision to construct at least one public school and college in each upazila of the country. "We've prepared a list of the upazilas where there is no public school and college. We'll construct schools and colleges in those areas first", she added.

Education Secretary M. Sohrab Hossain and Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Fahima Khatun also spoke at the program.
