Two RU Teachers Get Deans Award for Researches

RU teachers get Deans Award

Two teachers of Science Faculty of Rajshahi University obtained 'Deans Award 2016' as for their valuable contributions to scientific researches.

The teachers are- Associate Professor Dr. Mijanur Rahman of Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development and Dr. Syed Russel Kabir of Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Dr. Mijan received the award for his in-depth research on global health policy under the physical and mathematical sciences category while Dr. Kabir for his research on cancer prevention drugs and protein biochemistry under chemical and biochemical sciences category.

RU authority handed over the awards in a ceremony at the dean office conference hall on April 19, 2016 (Tuesday). Vice-Chancellor Professor Mijanuddin and Pro-VC Professor Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with Dean of Science Faculty Professor Habibur Rahman in the chair.

Account BenefitTreasurer Professor Sayen Uddin, Professor Subrata Kumar Mazumder and Chairman of Mathematics Department Professor Wazed Ali Pramanik also spoke on the occasion.

In his remarks, Professor Mijanuddin hoped that the award would encourage others to carry out more research in other scientific fields for welfare of the people, according to a news agency.
