Ninety DU Students Get Dean's Award

DU students get dean's award

The Faculty of Arts of Dhaka University (DU) on February 11, 2016 awarded its 90 meritorious students with prestigious 'Dean's Award' for their brilliant results.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the awards among the recipients as chief guest at a function held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of the university.

Presided over by Dean of the Arts Faculty Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, the function was addressed by renowned educationist Professor Emeritus of DU English Department Dr. AF Serajul Islam Chowdhury as the guest of Honor.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin addressed the program as special guests.

Account BenefitBesides, Chairperson of DU Bengali Department Professor Dr. Begum Akter Kamal and, among recipients, Unmesh Ray and Nusrat Gulzer also addressed the function. Professor Arefin congratulated the meritorious students for winning the Dean's Award and urged them to play the leading roles in making the country more prosperous.

He said students must possess humanitarian qualities, moral values, honesty, sincerity and dedication as these qualities will help them prosper in life.
