JU to Host Bangladesh Planning and Research Conference

JU to host an int'l conference

The Urban and Regional Planning (URP) department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) is going to host a two-day long international conference titled 'Bangladesh Planning and Research-2016' on February 05, 2016.

Convener and Chairman of URP department Professor Shafiq-Ur-Rahman disclosed the event at a press conference at the JU Journalist's Association (Juja) office around 3:30 pm.

A total of 200 including 30 foreigner delegates will attend the conference while 84 research papers will be presented about on urban planning, urbanization development, poverty alleviation, local government systems, sustaining natural systems, weather and climate changes, ICT planning, added the convener.

JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the program as expected while Professor Nazrul Islam, former chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) is expected as chief guest, Zmilur Reza Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of Asia Pacific University, JU Pro-VC Professor Abul Hossain and Treasurer Professor Abul Khair are expected as special guest.
