The 20th founding anniversary of Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) was celebrated on the university campus in the capital's Uttara campus on January 04, 2015.

AUB has chalked out month-long programs including debate competition, football tournament, students' reunion, family day, winter clothes distribution, seminar, cultural show and film festival to mark the day, says a press release.

The Vice-Chancellor of AUB Professor Abul Hasan M. Sadeq inaugurated the foundation anniversary program by cutting a cake on the campus.

Dr. Jafar Sadeq, Chairman of the Board of Trustee of AUB, Treasurer Advocate Abul Kalam Azad, Registrar Professor Dr. Muhammad Saiful Islam, exam controller KM Monirul Islam, deans and departmental heads were also present on the occasion among others.

Started its journey in 1996, the AUB is one of the largest private universities in the country with around 8,500 students. Meanwhile, the AUB declared 2016 as the year of 'Towards Research University'.
