Seminar on 'World Toilet Day' Held at UITS

A seminar about hygienic toilet installation, maintenance and importance of proper use was held at the main campus of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) on the occasion of World Toilet Day.

The seminar titled 'Toilet Development: Safety and Sanitation Perspective' was held 4:30 pm on November 20, 2015 (Friday) organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at the University hall room.

The seminar was attended by the member of World Toilet Organization and Additional Chief Engineer of PWD Mr. Syed Azizul Haque as the chief guest and the Pro Vice-Chancellor of UITS Professor Dr. Chowdhury M. Zakaria as the special guest.

Account BenefitSpeakers at the seminar said, mainly the untidy habits and life leading is responsible for spread of the diseases. The absence of nutritious food, drugs and better treatment are not only responsible for premature death, rundown and diseases rather than lack of health awareness and general knowledge are the main reason in most cases.

The seminar was presided over by the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Mr. Arifuzzaman. Assistant Professor of the CE Department Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hassan and the other teachers and students of the department were also present at the seminar.
