Freshers reception held at VU

Fresher's Reception has been held for the Journalism, Communication and Media Studies Department of Varendra University (VU), Rajshahi.

The program was held on the campus on May 28, 2015 (Thursday) in the afternoon at the Kazla of the city. Spring and Summer semester students were welcomed in this program.

The veteran journalist Abed Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while the program presided over by the president of Journalism, Communication and Media Studies Department of the University, Md. Mashiur Rahman.

Adviser of Varendra University Professor Dr. M. Saidur Rahman Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Nurul Hossain Chowdhury attended as the special guests.

In addition, the Registrar (Acting) Shamim Ahsan Parvez; teachers of different departments; chief of Rajshahi Bureau of Jamuna Television Shibli Noman including the university officials were present at the program.

In his speech, Adviser of Varendra University Professor Saidur Rahman Khan said, "Journalists are considered to be the conscience of society. You must have a variety of knowledge to become a professional journalist. That's why you have to continue the study on a regular basis."
