Several cracks developed in the walls and floors of two hostels of Kumudini Medical College and the administrative building of Rajshahi University after earthquake held in various parts of the country.

The authorities on April 26, 2015 closed Kumudini Women's Medical College in Tangail for five days following development of several cracks in its two hostels. Students saw the cracks on the walls and floors at the six-storey hostel 'Bijoya Bhaban' and four-storey hostel 'Amio Bala Bhaban' following mild earthquakes on April 25 and 26, 2015, a day into Nepal earthquake that killed over 2,500 people.

The authorities decided to close the college and vacate all the four hostels till May 01, 2015; Dr Abdul Halim, principal of the college confirmed that. Campus sources said the college authorities took the decision on April 26, 2015 after the resident students expressed unwillingness to stay there risking their lives.
