Cesarean operation on Goat at PSTU

A successful 'Cesarean' operation on a mother Goat has been held at the Veterinary Clinic of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU).

The successful operation was completed on March 15, 2015. According to the sources of Veterinary Clinic, a resident of the Rahmatpur Bazar, adjacent to the Babuganj campus of the University in Barisal, Ms. Parul Begum brought a mother goat.

Veterinarian in charge of the Veterinary Clinic and Assistant Professor of Medicine Surgery and Obstetrics Department of the university, Dr. Dibyendu Biswash checked the mother goat and decided to do a cesarean operation.

He said the situation of baby goat was not good in the abdomen of mother goat, so we decided to do an operation. After the cesarean operation, it was seen that the baby goat have died at least 3 days before. Amniotic Fluid in the mother's abdomen (by which the child floated) was broken, it is called water broke, and the child died.

Account BenefitAssistant Professor in the same department Md. Lalmaddin Molla said, "In this condition the mother's life is in risk, so the only way is a cesarean operation".

According to the Veterinary Clinic, health of the mother goat is good after the operation. Note that, intern students of DVM 8th Batch of the University helps the operation.
