Full-fledged medical center at JU

The Vice-chancellor (VC) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor Dr. Farzana Islam inaugurated a full-fledged medical center at the campus on September 14, 2014.

JU VC inaugurated the medical center through a colorful and discussion program at the premises of the newly constructed medical center around 11:00 am where JU VC was present as chief guest and pro-VC Abul Hossain, Treasurer Abul Khayer were attend as the special guest.

Professor Farzana Islam said, "The first and foremost responsibility of the doctor is to conquer the mind of the patients. By conquering the mind of the patients the doctors can make them sound around 50 percent."

She also said, "We will try to make the medical center as a digital medical center very soon furnished with the essential equipment of medical science so that every family members of JU gets better treatment at the medical center."

JU Pro-VC Abul Hossain said, "We are very much cheerful to build a modern medical center after 42 years at the campus." ATM Abdul Hannan head of JU medical center said, "We will set up all kinds of heavy machineries at the medical center as soon as possible for providing the all kinds of modern treatment to the patients." He also said that now the patients could taste all kinds of diseases at the medical center.

Account BenefitEarlier, JU submitted a total of TK. 40 million to the University Grant Commission (UGC) for the medical center where UGC approved a total of TK. 10 million for modernization the JU medical center, ATM Hannan confirmed this. The construction work was started on 23 March in last year.

Among others teachers of different department, officials and workers of different sectors and the local and campus journalists of different print and electronic media were attended at the inaugurate program.
