JUST Closed Sine Die as Student Killed in BCL Attack

JUST student, Naimul Islam Riyad

Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has been declared closed for an indefinite period following the killing of a BCL activist student by his party rivals.

The decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting of the university on July 14, 2014 evening. The male inmates of the residential halls have been asked to vacate their rooms within 9:00 pm on July 14, 2014 while females students will have to leave by 10:00 am on July 15, 2014.

Besides, the syndicate has suspended the university unit BCL president and general secretary for their alleged connection with the killing of Naimul Islam Riyad, 25, a fourth year Environmental Science bachelor's student of the university.

Account BenefitAccording to the witnesses, Naimul came under attack of a group of miscreants in front of the university main gate when he was passing time with some of his friends.

The miscreants came on the spot riding motorbikes and started to hack the victim. Naimul's friend Delwar tried to stop them only to face the wrath of the attackers who left the scene after injuring Naimul critically. When he was rushed to hospital, doctors declared him dead.
