Software for Traffic Control Invented by UITS Student

Traffic Controller Software

A Software will control the traffic signal light automatically and scan vehicle number plate to reduce the traffic jam on the road.

Student of CSE Department, Md. Rubel presented the software as a project at the program titled 'Festival Zero-One Fast-2014' organized by the CSE and IT Department of University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS).

Traffic signal lights will automatically controlled by this software according to the rules of traffic lights and vehicles will not be able to run when the red light is on according to the rules of signal light. If a vehicle runs by breaking the rules then the software will scan vehicle number plate automatically and it will cut the fines money from the from the vehicle owner's bank account.

If the vehicle owner does not have a bank account, a case will be filed on the owners name and a SMS will send to the traffic control room and owners mobile phone with the case number. This software would reduce the traffic jam as well as the extortion of traffic police.

Account BenefitInventor of the software Md. Rubel said "I tried to create such software with lot of thinking to reduce the traffic jam of our country and using this country,s traffic jam possibly will be reduced. However, I've been able to develop it further if the Bangladesh government will approve it".

Several software companies like Techshop, Primax, IBC X, and CSI participated in that festival. The Vice-Chancellor of UITS, Dr. Muhammad Samad, Head of the CSE and IT Department also participated in that program with all teachers and students.
