Medical College Debate Festival-14

NDFBD very recently organized 'SK+F-NDFBD-CMCDC 3rd National Medical College Debate Festival 2014' at Chittagong Medical College (CMC) which was commenced on March 28 and ended on March 29.

It was organized by National Debate Federation Bangladesh (NDFBD), Chittagong Medical College Students Union (CMCSU) & Chittagong Medical College Debating Club (CMCDC). The competition was held in Shah Alam Bir Uttam Auditorium of Chittagong Medical College (CMC). Students of renowned public and private medical colleges of Bangladesh have participated in the festival.

The Festival started at 8:00 am on 28 March by reporting of the participants & distributing ID Cards, Gift items & Food Coupons to them. The colorful grand rally started at 9:00 am. After that the opening ceremony was held where the Chief Guest was Dr. Mujibul Haque Khan, President, Bangladesh Medical Association, Chittagong.

A total of 14 teams from government and private medical colleges of Bangladesh were in the debate competition. Four teams were selected for the Semi-Final & the topic was "This parliament believes that veto power should be banned". It was held between Chittagong Medical College Team 1 VS Chittagong Medical College Team 2 and Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, Barisal VS Dhaka Medical College.

Account BenefitFinally the final Round was held between Dhaka Medical College and Chittagong Medical College Team 2. The topic was "This parliament believes in the practice of perception,not in the festival of perception" And the champion team was Dhaka Medical College and the runner up team was Chittagong Medical College.

Ranok Mehedi of DMC said, "As the team leader of champion team, my first feeling is that it always feels good to be the champion. SK+F and NDFBD has done a fantastic job in creating a platform for the debaters of medical colleges. It's not an easy task to start the trend of debate in this area because of the busy schedule and pressure of study. But NDFBD has done that and made it one of the largest debating platform in the country. So being champion here this time means a lot. Its about upholding the prestige of our institute (DMC), about proving our versatility, and about shining in the glory of debate. And at the end of the day we are happy that we have done it. Credit goes to team NDFBD, CMC and SK+F for such an outstanding program. I hope that they will keep doing the good work in future".
