Make Country's Independence Meaningful - President

President Abdul Hamid on Thursday urged all to contribute to the country's development to make the hard-earned independence meaningful.

"We all need to contribute to the country's development from our respective positions to make our independence meaningful," he said.

Abdul Hamid said this when a delegation of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), led by its Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M Shamsuddin, met him at Bangabhaban.

During the meeting, the President also underscored the need for expanding higher education on science and technology for rapid progress of the country.

Hamid hoped that the university would play an important role in fulfilling the demand of science and technology professionals of the country in the future.

The VC apprised the President of various academic activities of the university and also informed that there is no academic session jam in the university.

The delegation members also apprised the President about several problems of the university, and the President assured his all-out cooperation for its further development.
