Milestone College - A leading College of Bangladesh
Milestone College is an educational institution growing from a Kindergarten to a Junior School and then to a secondary school, has now emerged as a leading college of Bangladesh.This college has both English curriculum and Bangla curriculum for all students. 50% of its students come to this college following personal recommendation from previous students or their parents.
It has students from different backgrounds, casts and creeds all over Bangladesh (750 students residing in the hostel). The College has seven campuses at Uttara Model Town, Dhaka-1230, Bangladesh. Each campus is independent. It has good transportation facilities for students. Students can admit from any part of the city.
In its college section, Principal conducts an assembly every week which is very effective for students’ regular study. He provides some real life examples and advices those help to make future plan or career.
In its English Medium section, the national curriculum (S.S.C & H.S.C syllabus) is followed in the English version. This section is headed by a Colonel (retd.) of Bangladesh Army. There are about 150 teachers working in the (English Medium) section. The college has over 7500 students and 512 teachers (six Retired Army officers, five retired professors from Cadet Colleges, five retired associate professors, ten assistant professors from government colleges and the rest are all lecturers.
In Primary School Certificate (PSC) Examination 698 students appeared (Both English & Bangla Medium), all passed. Pass percentage was 100%, 663 students passed in First Division. Their position was 5th in Bangladesh (in order of merit). Obtained 10 Talent Pool & 1 General Scholarship.
In 2011, 807 students appeared (Both English & Bangla Medium), all passed. Pass percentage was 100%, 353 students got A+. Their position was 4th in Bangladesh (in order of merit). Obtained 21 Talent Pool & 2 General Scholarships.
In Junior School Certificate (JSC) Examination 675 students appeared (Both English & Bangla Medium), all passed. Pass percentage was 100%. Their position was 13th in Dhaka Board (in order of merit). Obtained 10 Talent Pool & 21 General Scholarship. In 2011 779 students appeared (Both English & Bangla Medium), all passed. Pass percentage was 100%. 136 students got A+. Obtained 11 Talent Pool & 23 General Scholarship.
In this year a total of 706 students appeared in the SSC examination from Milestone College & achieved 100% success rate. A total of 338 students have scored GPA-5. Total of 468 students appeared from science group and 303 students have scored GPA-5. Total of 238 students appeared from commerce group and 35 students have scored GPA-5.
Total average of passing students in SSC & HSC is 99% & the rate of GPA holder is 86%.
It has laboratories and facilities for curricular and co-curricular activities. Stage events such as debate, extempore speech, recitation, seminar, general knowledge competition take place every week in its own auditorium. The college organizes seminar, symposiums and work-shops.
Clubs of Milestone College includes - English Club, Science Club, Business Club, Debating Club (Yearly), Theater Group (Yearly), Infinity Group, Manabik Shongho, Cultural Club (Yearly), Abritti Dol (Yearly), History club (Yearly), Writers Club (Yearly), Association for Medical help and Environmental Health promotion, International Understanding and Relation Club.
