International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) is the first non government university established in Bangladesh. The initial planning began in 1989 and the university was established in 1991.

Since establishment, IUBAT has grown steadily. IUBAT now offers one program leading to a post graduate degree, nine programs leading to professional bachelor degrees and two programs leading to professional diplomas.

Accreditation and Affiliation:
IUBAT is approved by the Government of Bangladesh as a degree granting institution under the Non Government University Act of 1992. IUBAT curriculums have been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and vetted by cooperating universities abroad. Its academic standards are accepted by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission. IUBAT is a full member of Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), London and this extended formal recognition of IUBAT degrees in 35 countries or regions of the Commonwealth. The College of Business Administration of IUBAT has been accepted as a Member of Graduate Management Admission Council of USA.

International Network:
IUBAT is internationally recognized institution having links with 78 universities in Europe, America, Canada, Australia, Asia and Africa. Several other cooperation agreements are in the process of finalization. IUBAT is recognized in North America, Europe, Australia, and transfer credits from IUBAT are eligible to pursue advanced degree in any country of the world.

Educational Financing:
IUBAT has special provision for supplementing the family resources of a student through scholarship, grant, free studentship, fee waiver, rebate, deferred payment, campus job, special offer, student loan through IMCSL etc.

Campus:
The permanent campus of IUBAT is located at 4 Embankment Drive Road, (off Dhaka-Ashulia Road) Sector 10, Uttara Model Town, Dhaka with 5.5 acres of own land. The panoramic campus surrounded by vast open space and natural scenic beauty at the bank of the river Turag is specially designed by a British architect for a university of the 21st century. IUBAT is equipped with library, computer and other labs, state-of-the-art teaching facilities including multi-media projectors and a cafeteria - all to provide a suitable environment specifically designed for effective learning. Arrangements have been made with hospitals and clinics for practical work in nursing.

Library:
The library is air-conditioned having sufficient chairs, tables, fans, racks and other utilities. IUBAT library have 13300 books, 200 journals, 100 cassettes, 90 DVDs. Library provides video-audio services and has collection of video, DVD, audio CDs and cassettes in connection with academic programs. The library subscribes and receives 190 journals, periodicals, newsletters, etc. on a regular basis. Besides, the library subscribes to all the English newspapers and weeklies published from Bangladesh for the users.

Account BenefitSocieties and Clubs:
IUBAT presently has eleven societies organized by the students with faculty anchor and these societies carry out various activities and have membership structure from the students as elaborated later. Besides, there are three sports clubs who organize extra- curricular activities and also operate as student organizations within the campus.

Faculty:
Educational programs at IUBAT are offered by highly qualified personnel from around the world. The Faculty composition reflects the University's international and application orientation, which are a mix of career teachers and professional as well as industry experts offering courses at IUBAT.

Housing and Living Arrangements:
IUBAT arranges individual or group accommodation for students near the university under secured and supervised conditions. There are separate male and female housing organized by the university within walking distance.

Medium of Instruction:
IUBAT is an English medium institution. This is primarily because students are being prepared for the modern world in local and international markets. The presence of local and international faculty & students create a cosmopolitan culture in the campus.

IUBAT is organized into colleges and centers. Presently, there are six colleges:
College of Business Administration (CBA); College of Agricultural Science (CAS); College of Engineering and Technology (CEAT); College of Nursing (CN); College of Arts and Sciences (CAAS); and College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM).

Application Eligibility:
The minimum educational requirement for admission application to bachelor programs is Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or twelve years of formal education in schools or college in science, commerce, humanities or other fields. Polytechnic, agricultural, nursing diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) holders are also qualified. In case of Madrasha students, the minimum educational requirement for application is Alim certificate. Admission to BSN program requires science background. To be eligible to apply, the person must meet the following requirements:
1. Has at least GPA of 2.00 in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examinations, or
2. Has at least second divisions in HSC and SSC or equivalent examinations, or
3. has passed three subjects of 'O' level along with two subjects of ‘A’ level with minimum of C grades, or
4. Has score of at least 410 out of 800 in each of the five courses and an average score of 450 in GED.
