Journalism and Media Studies

The academic study on Journalism was begins at first at Dhaka University (DU) in 1962. Also the opportunity to take higher degree in Journalism is available at Chittagong, Rajshahi, Jagannath and Jahangirnagar University as well as the Dhaka University. The Department of Journalism has been opened at the private universities as well as the public universities.

Associate Professor, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Dhaka Rubayet Ferdous said, "The number of TV, Radio, Newspapers and Online Magazines are increasing day by day. These media's needs professional journalists. The Journalism graduates have the opportunity to work at the local and foreign development organization. So now, the Journalism courses are being taught in the private universities as well as public universities."
